Get ready for a bloody dose of rock ’n’ roll horror! Antenna Releasing has acquired North American distribution rights to Jump Scare, a new cannibal horror film from director Donnie Hobbie and Ugly Duckling Pictures. The distributor is taking the film on a theatrical roadshow dubbed the “Halloween Hangover Tour,” giving horror fans another reason to celebrate Halloween long after October ends.

The tour officially begins on November 12, 2026, with additional theatrical engagements planned for later in November. Jump Scare will then arrive on digital platforms in early December before making its way to streaming in early 2027.

According to Antenna Releasing Chief Acquisitions Officer Billy Ray Brewton, the unusual release strategy was born out of a crowded Halloween movie season.

“The October season became so saturated with titles that we decided – ‘Why not give horror fans a chance to enjoy the spirit of Halloween in November, wash away the abundance of blood and guts from October, and enjoy a horror picture that hits you on a very different wavelength…(don’t worry, there are still plenty of blood and guts),’” Brewton explains.

What Is ‘Jump Scare’ About?

The film follows Jump Scare, an all-female metal band that retreats to a remote cabin to work on its next album. Their creative getaway quickly turns into a nightmare when they discover that a family of cannibals lives nearby.

With the murderous family targeting the unwanted visitors, the musicians must fight to survive a terrifying encounter far removed from the rock ’n’ roll escape they had planned.

Described as a mix of punk-rock grindhouse horror and cannibal cinema, Jump Scare aims to deliver a distinctive experience for genre fans, combining hypnotic imagery, heavy metal attitude, and plenty of bloodshed.

The film also features Eric Roberts, adding another familiar face to the cast.

Brewton praised the movie’s unconventional approach to horror, highlighting its visual style and the ambition behind the production.

“We don’t come across too many films like Jump Scare, a film with big ambition, staggeringly hypnotic imagery, and the kind of horror lingo that is far too uncommon these days,” he says. “You know when you’re watching filmmakers with a bright future, and it has been a thrill to help champion this film for future fans.”

‘Jump Scare’ Cast and Crew

The cast includes Shannon Dang, Erin Ruth Walker, Madison Abbott, Natasha Estrada, Chelsea Talmadge, and Eric Roberts.

Donnie Hobbie directs the film, with Brendan Thomas serving as producer.

Hobbie summed up the movie’s approach with a fitting description of its gruesome appeal: “It’s the simple things in life. Chainsaws, Music, and buckets of blood.”

‘Jump Scare’ Halloween Hangover Tour Dates

Before the official November launch, Jump Scare will receive a preview screening on October 25 at Brain Dead Studios in Los Angeles, as part of Antenna Releasing’s Twisted Signals Festival.

The Halloween Hangover Tour will then visit several cities across the United States, including:

  • Chicago
  • New York City
  • Boston
  • St. Louis
  • Kansas City
  • Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey, where the film will screen at Kevin Smith’s Smodcastle Cinemas on November 27

Additional dates are expected to be announced.

Horror fans can follow the tour and find further screening information through the official Antenna Releasing website.

Jump Scare hits theaters beginning November 12, 2026, before expanding to additional locations later in the month. Digital platforms follow in early December, with streaming planned for early 2027.

Born in December, the darkest and coldest month of the year, Francesco Monti developed a passion for all things horror from an early age. A lifelong horror aficionado, his love for films, books, and the darker side of storytelling eventually led him into filmmaking, with a focus on horror, thriller, and sci-fi. In May 2022, Francesco turned that lifelong passion into GoreCulture — a platform created not only to bring horror fans closer to the films, stories, and culture they love, but to give a voice and valuable exposure to talented filmmakers, creators, and artists whose work deserves to be discovered, regardless of how established they are.
