‘Brute 1986’ Trailer Teases the Upcoming Sequel to ‘Brute 1976’
The killers are back, and this time they’re bringing an ’80s horror vibe with them. Following the blood-soaked slasher Brute 1976, director Marcel Walz (Blood Feast, Blind) returns with Brute 1986, a sequel that pays tribute to the golden age of slasher movies.
The official trailer for Brute 1986 has arrived, teasing another brutal encounter with a family of violent misfits. Watch the trailer below!
What Is ‘Brute 1986’ About?
In Brute 1986, a glam metal band and its crew travel to an abandoned desert town to shoot a music video. Unfortunately, the group has no idea that the remote location is home to the dangerous Birdy family, who have little patience for trespassers.
The official synopsis reads:
“A glam metal band and their crew venture to an abandoned desert town to film a music video. Unbeknownst to them, a deranged family of violent misfits lives there, and they don’t take well to uninvited visitors. As they begin killing off their unwanted guests, the band, unable to escape, plots revenge.”
The story follows Leather Kobra, a rebellious glam metal band that ignores the “no trespassing” signs surrounding the abandoned Western town. Once the group catches the attention of the Birdy family, its members find themselves fighting to survive a series of vicious and increasingly creative attacks.

Director Marcel Walz Pays Tribute to ’80s Slasher Movies
Walz has made no secret of his love for classic slasher films, citing several influential horror titles as inspiration for the sequel.
“The whole team and I had so much fun on this movie,” Walz says. “I’m a huge fan of the slasher genre, especially Friday the 13th Part 6, The Burning, Halloween, Sleepaway Camp, and many more. That being said, we also knew we can’t make a pure ’80s horror, but we transferred our love of those movies to the screen.”
With its glam metal band, isolated desert setting, and murderous family, Brute 1986 aims to capture the spirit of classic slasher cinema while delivering its own brutal take on the genre.
Brute 1986 is coming soon from Cinephobia Releasing. Stay tuned for further release details.
