Following his return to the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise last year, Freddie Prinze Jr. is heading back into horror with a new psychological thriller titled Killing Time.

Principal photography has officially wrapped on the home invasion thriller, with the news first reported by Deadline.

Prinze Jr. leads a cast that also includes Shelley Hennig, Sasha Pieterse, William Moseley, Michael Evans Behling, and Michael Sirow.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Following a bank robbery and murder spree, a couple on the run seek refuge in the home of an affluent married couple. But as the night unfolds, the fugitives discover that their seemingly well-heeled hosts harbor secrets of their own, setting the stage for a volatile confrontation in which the lines between predator and prey become increasingly blurred.”

According to Deadline, Killing Time reimagines the psychological warfare of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? as a home invasion thriller, suggesting a tense battle of manipulation and shifting power dynamics between its characters.

Joshua Friedman directed the film from a screenplay by Ward Anderson and Marc Morgenstern.

“Freddie, Shelley, Sasha, and William brought everything this film needed — charm, menace, and the ability to turn on a dime,” Friedman said in a statement to Deadline.

Quiver Distribution will release Killing Time in 2027.
