‘This Is Not a Test’ Trailer Turns Detention into a Zombie Apocalypse

Friendship meets the undead in ‘This Is Not a Test‘, the teen zombie thriller that looks like The Breakfast Club crashed into 28 Days Later.

The film, hitting theaters February 20 courtesy of Independent Film Company and Shudder, adapts Courtney Summers’ 2012 YA horror novel, with Adam MacDonald (Backcountry, Pyewacket) writing and directing.

The story follows Sloane and a small group of classmates who barricade themselves in their high school as a sudden zombie apocalypse tears through their hometown. As the undead pound at the doors, Sloane is forced to confront what it really takes to survive—and see her peers in a deadly new light.

The cast includes Olivia Holt (Heart Eyes), Froy Gutierrez (The Strangers), Corteon Moore (From), Carson MacCormac (Clown in a Cornfield), Chloe Avakian (Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy), and Luke MacFarlane (Bros).

This Is Not a Test carries an R rating for “strong bloody violence, gore, suicide, language, some sexuality, and brief teen drinking,” promising teen drama with a deadly, gory twist.

Whether you’re in it for teen angst, zombie carnage, or both, This Is Not a Test is set to deliver a high school survival story with teeth—and plenty of blood.
