What if getting drunk was the only way to figure out who’s killing your friends?
That’s the wild premise behind Buzzkill, a new Tubi Original slasher arriving as part of this year’s Terror on Tubi celebration. The movie premieres September 25, and Tubi has released the official trailer.
Written by Suzanne Keilly (Slumber Party Massacre) and directed by Jem Garrard (R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead), Buzzkill follows a group of sorority sisters who find themselves trapped with a vengeful killer.
As her friends are picked off one by one, party girl Nora discovers that the drunker she gets, the more her hazy memories begin revealing clues about the killer’s identity.
But Nora has to work fast — because if she drinks too slowly, her next vodka soda could be her last.
Siena Agudong (Carrie), Brec Bassinger (Final Destination Bloodlines), and Aliyah’s Interlude (English Teacher) lead the cast.
Garrard praised Keilly’s script and its unconventional take on the slasher genre, particularly its unlikely protagonist.
“I loved Suzanne’s script and was excited by her spin on the slasher genre,” Garrard tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Nora isn’t your traditional final girl.”
The director also praised Agudong, saying the actress brings strong comedic instincts and plenty of heart to the role, while describing the ensemble as a distinct and dysfunctional group of characters.
Buzzkill premieres September 25 exclusively on Tubi as part of Terror on Tubi.
