Companion director Drew Hancock is returning to horror with Seasons, an upcoming Amazon MGM Studios feature based on a viral Reddit horror story — and the film now has an official theatrical release date.

Seasons will hit theaters on November 12, 2027.

Jack Reynor (Midsommar) and Lily James (Swiped) lead the cast, which also includes Ron Perlman (Cape Fear), Elizabeth McGovern (Talamasca), Wes Studi (Avatar: Fire and Ash, Deep Rising), and Dane DiLiegro (Prey).

The project was originally announced in 2020 under the title My Wife and I Bought a Ranch. The movie is based on the viral horror story by Matt and Harrison Query, which first gained attention after being published on Reddit’s r/nosleep.

The story follows Harry and Sasha, a couple who believe they’ve found their dream home on a remote ranch in Idaho. Harry, a Marine trying to adjust to life after his service, and Sasha make a lowball offer on the property — and surprisingly, it gets accepted.

But their dream home comes with a horrifying catch: they’re not alone.

The land is inhabited by ancient spirits, and the couple soon finds themselves forced to take part in increasingly disturbing rituals as the seasons change. What begins as an exciting new chapter quickly becomes a terrifying fight for survival.

Seasons is being produced by 21 Laps, Blumhouse Atomic Monster, and 12:01 Films.

Seasons arrives in theaters November 12, 2027.

Born in December, the darkest and coldest month of the year, Francesco Monti developed a passion for all things horror from an early age. A lifelong horror aficionado, his love for films, books, and the darker side of storytelling eventually led him into filmmaking, with a focus on horror, thriller, and sci-fi. In May 2022, Francesco turned that lifelong passion into GoreCulture — a platform created not only to bring horror fans closer to the films, stories, and culture they love, but to give a voice and valuable exposure to talented filmmakers, creators, and artists whose work deserves to be discovered, regardless of how established they are.
