Disney+ Japan has released the first teaser for Night Tales Club, an upcoming supernatural horror anthology bringing together an impressive lineup of Japanese filmmakers, including Pulse director Kiyoshi Kurosawa and Ju-On creator Takashi Shimizu. The six-episode series is scheduled to premiere in January 2027.
Based on a collection of short horror stories by Ichi Sawamura, Night Tales Club follows a businessman whose fascination with the unexplained leads him to investigate strange occurrences and supernatural mysteries.
What Is Night Tales Club About?
The series centers on Hojo, a businessman played by Takayuki Yamada, who believes ghost stories, monsters, and other supernatural phenomena are actually glitches in a larger conspiracy.
To investigate his theory, Hojo establishes the Night Tales Club, inviting people to share their strange experiences and evidence in exchange for a reward of 20 million yen. Each meeting introduces a different mysterious story, forming the basis of the anthology’s supernatural scares.
According to Deadline, the six-part series will debut on Disney+ in Japan in January 2027.

Sawamura expressed his excitement about seeing his work brought to life, saying he felt an enormous sense of surprise and joy that the stories would soon be available to frighten audiences around the world.
