In this primal tale, a small boat lands on the shores of a harsh and unforgiving landscape. Six individuals have embarked on a treacherous journey across the narrow sea in search of a new home. Starving, desperate, and thrust into the stark reality of 45,000 years ago, they face their first challenge: finding shelter. Their quest leads them across the unforgiving tundra, toward distant mountains harboring the caves crucial for their survival. However, as night descends, anticipation morphs into fear and doubt as they come to realize that they are not alone in this perilous world.

“The Origin” features a talented ensemble cast, including Safia Oakley-Green (“Sherwood”), Chuku Modu (“Captain Marvel”), Kit Young (“Shadow and Bone”), Iola Evans (“Choose or Die”), Luna Mwezi (“Needle Park Baby”), Arno Luening (“Divine Comedy”), Rosebud Melarkey, and Tyrell Mhlanga.

Directed by Andrew Cumming for Sony Pictures’ Stage 6, “The Origin” boasts a script penned by Ruth Greenberg (known for “Run”). The film’s production is spearheaded by Oliver Kassman (recognized for “Saint Maud”), promising to deliver a compelling and spine-tingling horror experience.

In May 2022, Francesco turned that lifelong passion into GoreCulture — a platform created not only to bring horror fans closer to the films, stories, and culture they love, but to give a voice and valuable exposure to talented filmmakers, creators, and artists whose work deserves to be discovered, regardless of how established they are.
