‘Wrong Number’ – Kid Cudi Directs and Stars in New Stalker Horror Movie
The Grammy-winning musician and filmmaker, whose real name is Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, is directing, writing, and starring in the upcoming stalker horror movie Wrong Number.
Barbie Ferreira (Faces of Death) co-stars in the film, which is currently in production in Los Angeles.
Wrong Number follows Ibn (Mescudi), a lonely self-help author whose unexpected romance with a mysterious woman named Eliza (Ferreira) quickly turns into a nightmare.
When an unseen stalker begins targeting Ibn, he finds himself caught in a terrifying situation — and becomes the prime suspect in a series of murders.
The cast also includes Lucy Barrett (Deep Water), Dewayne Perkins (The Blackening), Clifton Powell (Ray), and Laura Harrier (Michael).
Mescudi says his love of horror made the genre a natural choice for his latest project.
“A lot of people know that I’m a huge horror buff. And it was only a matter of time before I’d jump into the genre myself with my own stories,” Mescudi said.
He describes Wrong Number as an original horror thriller and says he’s excited to challenge himself as a filmmaker with his second feature.
“Directing my second film in a year is unreal,” Mescudi added. “I’m learning more and more each day and I’m just ready for the challenge.”
Mescudi previously made his feature directorial debut with the addiction drama Doe, which is currently awaiting release.
Wrong Number is now in production.
