‘Siren Head’ Movie Will Surprise Fans, Teases Writer Brian Duffield
The upcoming Siren Head movie may take the internet-famous monster in a direction audiences aren’t expecting. Writer Brian Duffield has offered a new update on the Warner Bros. horror project, revealing that the film’s concept is already generating excitement from the creature’s creator, Trevor Henderson.
Announced in July, the movie brings together Duffield and filmmaker Zach Cregger, who are collaborating on the screenplay. Duffield is also expected to direct the project, although further details about the production have yet to be confirmed.
In an interview with Polygon, Duffield discussed the project’s progress at New York Comic Con, explaining that both filmmakers have been busy with other commitments but remain excited to develop the horror adaptation.
Brian Duffield Teases an Unexpected Approach to Siren Head
Duffield acknowledged that he and Cregger still need to find time to dive deeper into the screenplay. Both have had packed schedules, with Cregger promoting Resident Evil and Duffield handling press commitments for Whalefall.
Despite the delays, Duffield said the project has given him an opportunity to work directly with Henderson, the artist who created Siren Head.
The conversations have involved exploring what the creature can and cannot do, with Henderson answering questions and reacting to ideas developed by Duffield and Cregger.
According to Duffield, the concept Cregger brought to him differs from what audiences might expect from a Siren Head movie. He described the approach as exciting and said Henderson has responded enthusiastically to the ideas discussed so far.
Duffield added that he looks forward to getting deeper into the project after taking a much-needed break following the Whalefall press tour.
What Is Siren Head?
Created by artist Trevor Henderson in 2018, Siren Head became an internet horror phenomenon thanks to its disturbing design and unsettling mythology.
The creature is typically depicted as a towering, roughly 40-foot-tall humanoid figure with a skeletal, decaying body and two sirens in place of a head. Those sirens emit disturbing sounds, making the monster particularly recognizable among modern internet-born horror creations.
Henderson’s original artwork helped turn the creature into a viral sensation, inspiring fan art, video games, online horror stories, and countless videos across social media platforms.
Its popularity has extended to TikTok, YouTube, and Roblox, establishing Siren Head as one of the most recognizable modern internet horror characters.
Zach Cregger and Brian Duffield Are Bringing the Creature to the Big Screen
The upcoming adaptation will bring Siren Head into a feature-film setting for Warner Bros., with Cregger and Duffield developing a story that appears to move beyond the most familiar interpretations of the creature.
With Henderson involved in conversations about the monster’s abilities and the filmmakers’ ideas, the project has a direct connection to the character’s origins.
For now, the story details, casting, and release date remain under wraps. However, Duffield’s comments suggest that the filmmakers are aiming for an approach that will surprise audiences familiar with the internet-famous cryptid.
More details about the Siren Head movie are expected as development continues.
