Dead of Night 2026 horror movie teaser featuring the Night Stalker-inspired thriller executive produced by Chris Jericho.

Inspired by the fear surrounding the Night Stalker murders of the 1980s, Dead of Night is bringing a new wave of terror to theaters this November. The upcoming independent horror-thriller has released its first teaser trailer ahead of its November 13, 2026 theatrical release, with professional wrestling legend Chris Jericho serving as an executive producer.

From Level 33 Entertainment, Dead of Night is directed by Derek Sulek and stars Dermot Mulroney, Scott Grimes, Jake Busey, and Kirrilee Berger. Jericho, who appeared in Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3, joins the production team behind the upcoming horror film.

What Is Dead of Night About?

Set in the quiet town of Elmwood Heights, Dead of Night begins when authorities discover the savagely mutilated body of a teenage girl. As fear spreads throughout the community, newly elected mayor Alex Camacho attempts to reassure residents by organizing a neighborhood watch.

But the killings continue, leaving Sheriff Weaver, played by Mulroney, struggling to identify the murderer as the town descends into panic.

Meanwhile, the sheriff’s daughter, Kelly (Berger), becomes determined to uncover the killer’s motives. As she investigates the increasingly disturbing crimes, she risks getting dangerously close to the truth.

Drawing inspiration from the Night Stalker era, the film explores how a community reacts when brutal murders shatter its sense of security.

Chris Jericho Executive Produces the Independent Horror Film

Sulek directs Dead of Night from a screenplay he co-wrote with Eric Durham. The film was produced by Oren Kamara, Derek Sulek, and Dan Sheldon, with Jijo Reed serving as co-producer.

Executive producers include Chris Jericho, Scott Grimes, Ann Koch, Doug Johnson, and Matthew Ballard.

The production was filmed in Los Angeles, where the filmmakers drew inspiration from the fear that gripped the city during the Night Stalker era. According to the team, shooting in Los Angeles helped give the film an authentic connection to its historical influences.

The filmmakers also highlighted the contributions of the local cast and crew, describing the project as an independent, Los Angeles-made horror film they are eager to bring to audiences nationwide.

Dead of Night arrives exclusively in theaters on November 13, 2026, through Level 33 Entertainment.
