Shudder Reveals Full October Horror Lineup for Halloween

Halloween season is almost here, and Shudder is once again loading up its library with horror movies, original films, special events, and plenty of nightmares.

The horror-focused streamer has revealed its full October 2026 lineup, bringing everything from genre classics and cult favorites to new Shudder Original movies and returning series.

The month kicks off with Alice, Sweet Alice, Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, Insidious, Lake Mungo, The Descent, Session 9, and The Haunting, among numerous other horror favorites.

Shudder will also premiere several new originals throughout the month, including Infirmary, V/H/S/Mixtape, Hallowarrior, The Cycle, and Big Baby.

Curse of the Ghoul Logs comes from the filmmakers behind Hallowarrior and brings an hour-long collection of eerie, candlelit pumpkin imagery to the service just in time for Halloween.

October 2

• Infirmary — Shudder Original Film

In Infirmary, a guard disappears during his first night working at an abandoned psychiatric hospital. Bodycam footage captured a series of disturbing events that investigators still can’t explain. The film stars Paul Syre, Mark Anthony Williams, and Danielle Kennedy.

• V/H/S/Mixtape — Shudder Original Film

The ninth installment in the V/H/S franchise turns music and sound into weapons of terror. The anthology explores everything from cosmic horror and psychological nightmares to gruesome practical effects.

The new segments come from Ernest Dickerson, RZA, David Moreau, and Renee Zhan, whose segment features original puppets created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

The film also includes music video interludes from Flying Lotus and a new music video directed by Tobias Forge, with shock-metal legends GWAR also making an appearance.

Hallowarrior follows Pumpkin, played by Milly Shapiro, as the last known survivor of a plague that wiped out humanity.

Living alone in a devastated wasteland, Pumpkin’s Halloween ritual is interrupted when a violent gang led by Thalia (Shannyn Sossamon) arrives at her doorstep. Armed with candy, weapons, and whatever else she can find, Pumpkin has to fight to survive the night.

• The Cycle — Shudder Original Film

Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl return for a Halloween-themed double feature packed with horror, mayhem, and plenty of dismemberment.

The special airs live Friday at 9 p.m. ET and will be available on-demand beginning October 25.

Meanwhile, The Cycle follows a woman who becomes the key to solving a disturbing mystery after police discover a body at a horrific crime scene. As she investigates her estranged father, she uncovers a secret he thought had been buried forever.

• FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards — Shudder Special Premiere

Hosted by Devon Sawa, the annual FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards celebrate the year’s biggest achievements in horror.

The ceremony airs live Sunday at 9 p.m. ET and arrives on-demand October 26.

Horror icons Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet return with a new season of the extreme drag competition series, featuring performers from around the world competing in challenges involving costumes, makeup, special effects, performance, and craftsmanship.

• Big Baby — Shudder Exclusive Film

A horror writer begins working on a script inspired by nightmares about a killer wearing a baby mask. But as his own life begins to unravel, he starts to wonder if the murderous figure known as Big Baby might actually be real.

The film is directed by Spider One (Little Bites, Allegoria) and executive produced by Cher.

October 31

• Hunting Matthew Nichols — Shudder Exclusive Film

Twenty years after her brother disappeared on Vancouver Island, a documentary filmmaker begins investigating the case herself. As disturbing evidence comes to light, she starts to believe that Matthew Nichols may still be alive.

The film stars Miranda MacDougall and Markian Tarasiuk.

With new originals, cult classics, Halloween specials, and another V/H/S installment, Shudder is making October a busy month for horror fans.
