The slasher genre got a fresh jolt of life in 2024 with In a Violent Nature, the unconventional horror film that followed a relentless killer through the woods as he hunted down his victims. Its distinctive perspective and brutal practical effects helped the indie slasher stand out, earning it enough attention to spawn a sequel.

Now, In a Violent Nature: Part 2 is gearing up for its theatrical release, and a new poster brings back Johnny’s signature hook to reveal the film’s release date.

The sequel will slash its way into theaters on February 12, 2027. You can check out the new poster below.

What Is In a Violent Nature: Part 2 About?

Picking up after the original film, In a Violent Nature: Part 2 follows Johnny (Ry Barrett) as he continues his bloody rampage at an Ontario summer camp. This time, a young outcast camper is forced to spend the night alongside his counselor sister and her friends during their annual end-of-season party.

The cast includes Lucas Nguyen, Olivia Scriven (Blood Quantum), Laurie Babin (Red Rooms), Fionn Laird (The Institute), Donald MacLean Jr. (The Craft: Legacy), and Evan Marsh (Shazam).

Nate Wilson co-directs with returning filmmaker Chris Nash, who also wrote the sequel. Peter Kuplowsky, Shannon Hanmer, and Nash serve as producers.

Kuplowsky previously teased what fans can expect from the follow-up:

“With this sequel, fans can expect an exponential increase of the ol’ ultraviolence with a distinct hook, but one that still collides with storied slasher traditions.”

In a Violent Nature 2 Takes a Different Approach

The sequel’s approach may differ from the original, but fans can still expect plenty of bloody carnage when Johnny returns.

In a Violent Nature: Part 2 arrives in theaters on February 12, 2027.
