At first glance, the Kringles seem like the perfect neighbors. They love Christmas so much that they celebrate it all year long, surrounding their home with festive decorations and seemingly endless holiday cheer.
But something isn’t quite right.
The situation quickly turns disturbing as Mark and Julie Severson become increasingly concerned about their son’s growing attachment to the Kringle family. Before long, what looked like harmless Christmas enthusiasm gives way to violence, death, and a terrifying secret.
And yes, there’s even a leather-clad Santa thrown into the madness.
What Is ‘Christmas at the Kringles’ About?
Ron Livingston (The Conjuring, Office Space) stars as Mark Severson, a father who finds himself fighting to save his family after discovering the true intentions of his seemingly friendly neighbors.
After a confrontation sends Mark next door to bring his family home, he discovers that the Kringles are attempting to hypnotize and indoctrinate them.
With his family in danger, Mark finds an unlikely ally in Santa Claus, played by Rob Riggle. Together, they launch a high-stakes rescue mission against the bizarre family next door.
The official synopsis describes the movie as following the Seversons, a family starting over in a quiet suburban neighborhood. Their new neighbors, the Kringles, celebrate Christmas year-round, but their cheerful obsession soon becomes increasingly disturbing.
Cast and Crew
Christmas at the Kringles is directed by Kevin Lewis, best known for the horror comedy Willy’s Wonderland and Pig Hill, from a screenplay by Zack Imbrogno, whose credits include Slayers and Fear, Inc.
The cast also includes Rachel Bilson, Arden Myrin, Beverly D’Angelo, David Wain, Thomas Lennon, and Donald Faison.
Lewis previously described the project as the kind of “zany and bonkers” genre movie he had been looking to make following Willy’s Wonderland, praising Imbrogno’s screenplay and the talented cast and crew assembled for the film.
With its combination of Christmas horror, action, and dark comedy, Christmas at the Kringles looks like anything but a traditional holiday movie.
Christmas at the Kringles arrives in theaters on October 30, 2026.
