‘Dead by Daylight’ Is Losing Chucky on November 24
The Good Guy is getting ready to leave The Fog. Behaviour Interactive has announced that Chucky’s Dead by Daylight Chapter will be removed from digital storefronts on November 24, 2026, giving players a limited window to add the killer doll to their collection before he disappears from sale.
The announcement marks another departure for the multiplayer horror game, which has built much of its identity around bringing iconic horror villains into the same deadly playground. For fans who have yet to unlock Chucky, the deadline is fast approaching. Those who already own the content, however, will be able to keep playing him.
According to Behaviour Interactive, the Chucky Chapter and its associated content will be removed from the game’s in-game store and first-party storefronts. The developer has also confirmed that Chucky’s cosmetics will no longer be available for purchase, and it has no plans to release additional add-ons for the character. Bug fixes will continue.
Why Is Chucky Leaving Dead by Daylight?
Behaviour Interactive has not publicly explained why the Chucky Chapter is being delisted. Licensing agreements are a possible explanation for the decision, particularly given the number of licensed horror properties featured in Dead by Daylight, but the developer has not confirmed that this is the reason.
In its announcement, the studio reflected on the character’s time in the game, explaining that it was time for the Chapter to leave the shelf after nearly three years in The Fog.
Chucky’s departure highlights one of the challenges of licensed content in live-service games. While original characters belong to the game’s developers, recognizable horror icons depend on agreements with the companies that own their respective franchises. When licensed content leaves a storefront, players who have not purchased it may lose their opportunity to add it to their collection.
What Happens to Chucky After November 24?
The good news for existing owners is that Chucky is not being removed from Dead by Daylight entirely.
Players who unlock the Chapter before November 24, 2026, will retain access to the content. The removal affects its availability for purchase, rather than taking the character away from players who already own him.
However, anyone who has been waiting to purchase Chucky will need to act before the deadline. The character’s cosmetics are also being delisted, meaning players should check which items they want to add to their collections before the cutoff.
Behaviour Interactive has also confirmed that no additional Chucky add-ons are planned, although bug fixes will continue.
For players who enjoy collecting licensed Killers, the announcement is another reminder that digital availability is not always permanent. Owning the content before the deadline will make the difference between continuing to play as the Good Guy and missing out on the opportunity altogether.
Dead by Daylight’s History of Licensed Killer Removals
Chucky is not the first iconic horror character to leave Dead by Daylight’s digital storefronts.
Pinhead, from the Hellraiser franchise, was removed from sale in 2025 after joining the game in 2021. Michael Myers, the legendary killer from Halloween, was also removed from sale in January 2026.
The Demogorgon from Stranger Things has experienced a different journey. The Chapter was previously removed before returning in 2023, demonstrating that a licensed character’s departure does not necessarily mean that a return is impossible.
Nevertheless, there is no confirmed indication that Chucky will follow the same path.
For a game that has brought together characters from Halloween, Hellraiser, Child’s Play, and numerous other horror franchises, licensed content remains one of its biggest attractions. But these departures demonstrate the complications of maintaining a roster built partly around properties owned by other companies.
Chucky Chapter Gets a 50% Last Chance Sale
Players who want to unlock Chucky before his departure will have an opportunity to save money.
Behaviour Interactive has announced a 50% discount on Chucky Chapter items as part of a special Last Chance sale beginning Monday, October 26, 2026. The promotion runs until the November 24 removal date, giving interested players several weeks to purchase the content at a reduced price.
Anyone considering the purchase should check the relevant platform’s storefront for the available items and current prices.
With the deadline approaching, the sale gives longtime fans and newer players an opportunity to add the killer doll to their collections before the Chapter disappears from sale.
The Fog Keeps Changing
Dead by Daylight continues to evolve, bringing new horror characters into the game while some licensed content becomes unavailable for purchase. Every departure raises the same question for fans: how long will their favorite horror icons remain available?
Chucky is an especially fitting character to face that uncertainty. The killer doll has built an entire franchise around surviving situations that should have finished him off, making his departure from Dead by Daylight an ironic moment for horror fans.
For now, existing owners can continue playing as the Good Guy, but anyone who has yet to unlock him has until November 24, 2026, to do so.
The Fog may never be short of killers, but not every horror icon is guaranteed to stay forever.
