‘Crystal Lake’ Reveals Over 40 New Images From the ‘Friday the 13th’ Prequel Series

The return of Friday the 13th is almost here. A24’s upcoming horror series Crystal Lake premieres October 15 on Peacock, with all eight episodes available to stream on launch day.

Ahead of the premiere, NBCUniversal has released an extensive gallery featuring more than 40 new images from the highly anticipated prequel. The photos offer a closer look at the show’s characters, including Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees, the mother of Jason Voorhees and one of the most iconic figures in the Friday the 13th franchise.

The gallery also introduces several residents of Crystal Lake, including familiar characters from the original 1980 film.

Crystal Lake Brings Back Familiar Friday the 13th Characters

Alongside new faces, Crystal Lake will revisit characters connected to the original Friday the 13th. Among them are Crazy Ralph, as well as Claudette and Barry, the ill-fated couple featured in the original film’s opening sequence.

The newly released images provide a glimpse of the town and its residents before the events that helped turn Crystal Lake into one of horror’s most infamous locations.

Callum Vinson, known for his role in Chucky, plays a young Jason Voorhees in the prequel series.

What Is the Crystal Lake Series About?

Set before the events of the original Friday the 13th, Crystal Lake centers on Pamela Voorhees, a single mother struggling with grief following the drowning of her young son, Jason.

Nearly a year after the tragedy, two strangers arrive at Pamela’s door and begin asking questions about her past. Their investigation sets off a disturbing chain of events, leaving the townspeople wondering who Pamela Voorhees really is.

The series explores the history behind one of slasher cinema’s most notorious killers while expanding the mythology of the Friday the 13th universe.

Crystal Lake Cast and Creative Team

Linda Cardellini leads the cast as Pamela Voorhees. The series regulars also include William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom.

The recurring cast features Callum Vinson, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, and Phoenix Parnevik.

Brad Caleb Kane, who worked on IT: Welcome to Derry, serves as showrunner.

The eight-episode series features direction from Michael Lennox (Derry Girls), Celine Held and Logan George (Caddo Lake), and Quyen Tran (The Pitt).

With more than 40 new images offering a closer look at the characters and setting, Crystal Lake is preparing to bring audiences back to the world of Friday the 13th.

All eight episodes premiere on Peacock on October 15.
