Patrick Brice’s upcoming horror movie Violet features Mark Duplass, Lili Reinhart, Danny Ramirez, and Suki Waterhouse.

Patrick Brice, the filmmaker behind the Creep franchise, is returning to horror with Violet, a new psychosexual thriller that has already assembled an impressive cast. According to Variety, the film will star Lili Reinhart, Danny Ramirez, Suki Waterhouse, and Lukas Gage, alongside Creep star and co-writer Mark Duplass.

Reinhart (Forbidden Fruits, “Riverdale”), Ramirez (“The Last of Us,” No Exit), Waterhouse (Seance, The Bad Batch), and Gage (Companion, Smile 2) round out the cast.

Violet follows Sean (Ramirez), who has finally begun rebuilding his life two years after the sudden death of his fiancée, Violet (Waterhouse). He finds love with his childhood friend Kate (Reinhart), but their fresh start takes a disturbing turn when they move into the house Sean once shared with Violet.

Soon, Sean begins receiving unsettling text messages from someone—or something—claiming to be his dead former fiancée. In a world where texts, photographs, and digital footprints can linger indefinitely, the film raises an unsettling question: Can anyone truly escape a relationship after it’s over?

The screenplay was written by Nick Antosca (Verity, “Channel Zero”) and Alana B. Lytle, adapting Antosca’s short story “Ghostfish.” Originally published in the Los Angeles Review of Books in 2013, the flash-fiction story is also available to read through Atticus Review.

Antosca has several high-profile projects in the works, including this year’s “Cape Fear” reboot and the upcoming third installment in the Smile franchise.

Kelly McKee and Kenneth Browning will produce Violet alongside Elizabeth Haggard, Dylan Tarason, Antosca, and Alex Hedlund. Jeannine Tang, Chris Collins, Rasool Alizadeh, Gemma Levinson, and Jackson Stewart are executive producing.

Production is currently scheduled to begin in spring 2027. Further details, including a release date, have yet to be announced.
