Following the recent release of the action-packed film ‘Mayhem!,’ French director Xavier Gens, known for ‘Frontiers’ and ‘Cold Skin,’ is gearing up to bring a thrilling shark attack movie titled ‘Under Paris’ to Netflix.

Described as an “ambitious elevated genre film,” ‘Under Paris’ is set to make its debut on Netflix this summer. The French poster art for the film has been unveiled, offering a glimpse into the upcoming aquatic thriller.

According to Variety, the storyline unfolds in the summer of 2024, during the World Triathlon Championships hosted on the Seine in Paris for the first time. Sophia, a brilliant scientist, discovers from Mika, a young environmental activist, that a large shark is lurking in the depths of the river.

In an effort to prevent a potential disaster in the heart of the city, Sophia and Mika join forces with Adil, the Seine river police commander. The film stars Bérénice Bejo (‘The Artist’) and Nassim Lyes (‘Overdose’).

As we await more details about Netflix’s ‘Under Paris,’ anticipation builds for this unique and suspenseful addition to the streaming platform’s lineup.

A lifelong horror aficionado, his love for films, books, and the darker side of storytelling eventually led him into filmmaking, with a focus on horror, thriller, and sci-fi. In May 2022, Francesco turned that lifelong passion into GoreCulture — a platform created not only to bring horror fans closer to the films, stories, and culture they love, but to give a voice and valuable exposure to talented filmmakers, creators, and artists whose work deserves to be discovered, regardless of how established they are.
