Creepypasta Horror Movie ‘The Third Parent’ Unveils First Teaser

The first teaser trailer for The Third Parent has arrived, bringing one of the internet’s most disturbing creepypasta stories to the big screen. Directed by David Michaels and starring Crispin Glover, Rob Lowe, and Roselyn Sanchez, the upcoming horror movie is based on the viral stories created by writer Elias Witherow. The film is currently expected to hit theaters in 2027.

Creepypasta adaptations have been making their way to screens for years, from the Channel Zero television series to the Slender Man movie. More recently, Kane Parsons’ Backrooms has helped renew interest in internet-born horror, paving the way for more adaptations inspired by online urban legends.

Based on Elias Witherow’s viral creepypasta series, The Third Parent begins during a Fourth of July celebration when a disturbing figure named Tommy Taffy appears in a suburban neighborhood.

Disguised as a human, Tommy infiltrates an unsuspecting family’s home and attempts to impose his own authoritarian rules. What begins as an intrusion into an ordinary family gathering quickly becomes a nightmare, as the mysterious figure turns domestic life into a terrifying ordeal.

David Michaels wrote and directed the film, bringing Witherow’s internet-born horror story to the big screen.

The cast includes Crispin Glover, Rob Lowe, and Roselyn Sanchez, with Glover taking on the role of Tommy Taffy.

Although Tommy Taffy may not yet be as widely recognized as creepypasta icons like Slender Man, Glover hopes the character will leave a lasting impression.

In a previous interview, the actor explained that he deliberately avoided reading the original online stories before filming. Instead, he focused on the screenplay, believing that sticking to the script was the best approach to developing his performance.

Glover also discussed an unused prosthetic that was initially considered for the character. Because there wasn’t enough time to properly work through how the prosthetic would function, the team ultimately decided not to use it. The actor expressed curiosity about how the character’s final appearance would turn out.

With the first teaser now available, audiences can begin getting a glimpse of how the filmmakers have brought Tommy Taffy to life.
