‘Seeker’ – Adam Carter Rehmeier to Direct New Road Thriller

Carolina Caroline and Snack Shack filmmaker Adam Carter Rehmeier is getting behind the camera for Seeker, a new darkly comedic thriller that promises to take a very strange turn.

According to Deadline, Rehmeier will direct the film from a screenplay by Michael Learner.

Seeker follows Grant, a man still haunted by the unexplained disappearance of his fiancée five years earlier. Now working as an Uber driver, Grant’s routine is shattered when he picks up a passenger he becomes convinced is responsible for her disappearance.

What begins as a tense game of cat and mouse eventually spirals into something much stranger, more disturbing, and increasingly unhinged.

Alex Lebovici (Barbarian) and Learner will produce for Hammerstone Studios, alongside Oscar winner Adam McKay (Don’t Look Up) and two-time Emmy nominee Todd Schulman (The Chair Company) for HyperObject Industries. Noah Centineo and Enzo Marc will also produce through Arkhum Productions.

Learner says the goal was to create a thriller that constantly keeps audiences guessing while grounding the story in themes of obsession and loss.

“With Seeker, I wanted to write something as propulsive and unpredictable as possible, while grounded in a personal story about obsession and loss,” Learner said. “Adam has such a singular voice as a filmmaker and an incredible ability to find humanity in his characters. I can’t imagine a better filmmaker to bring Seeker to life.”

With a grieving protagonist, a potentially dangerous passenger, and a mystery that promises to become increasingly bizarre, Seeker could offer a particularly dark ride when it eventually arrives.
