Jessica Chastain is about to give audiences a whole new reason to be afraid of their own mothers.

Universal Pictures has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming horror movie Other Mommy, while a creepy new official poster has also arrived ahead of the film’s theatrical release this Halloween season.

Check out the new trailer and poster below, and get your tickets now.

The unsettling new trailer opens with a seemingly innocent moment between a young girl and her mother during bath time. But things quickly take a disturbing turn when the girl’s mother suddenly begins behaving strangely.

Then another version of Mom walks into the bathroom.

With two identical mothers standing in front of her, Bela is forced to figure out which one is real—and which one is the sinister entity known as Other Mommy.

From director Rob Savage (Host, The Boogeyman), Other Mommy is based on Josh Malerman’s (Bird Box) New York Times bestselling novel Incidents Around the House.

The story follows Bela, a young girl who develops a relationship with a terrifying entity inside her home that looks uncannily like her own mother.

Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain (It Chapter Two, The Eyes of Tammy Faye) takes on dual roles as Bela’s mother and the monstrous “Other Mommy.”

Jay Duplass (Transparent, Industry) stars as Daddo, Bela’s father, while Arabella Olivia Clark (The Housemaid, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle) plays Bela.

The supporting cast includes Dichen Lachman (Severance), Arian Moayed (Succession) and Karen Allen (Indiana Jones).

Other Mommy is directed by Rob Savage from a screenplay by Nathan Elston, based on Malerman’s Incidents Around the House.

The film comes from producer James Wan and Blumhouse Atomic Monster and will be released exclusively in theaters on October 9 through Universal Pictures.

The horror movie will also be available in 4DX, giving audiences an even more immersive way to experience Bela’s nightmare.
