‘Hallowarrior’ Trailer Sends ‘Hereditary’ Star Milly Shapiro Into a Post-Apocalyptic Nightmare

Halloween may be over, but in Shudder’s Hallowarrior, the apocalypse is just getting started.

The upcoming horror movie follows the last girl on Earth as she ventures across a post-apocalyptic wasteland in search of Halloween supplies. And when a violent gang shows up at her doorstep, she’ll have to fight to survive the night.

Hallowarrior premieres on Shudder on October 16, and the first trailer has arrived, giving us a bloody preview of the Halloween-themed nightmare.

The movie stars Milly Shapiro (Hereditary) as Pumpkin, the last surviving human following a plague that wiped out humanity. As Halloween approaches, Pumpkin scavenges the wasteland for supplies while preparing for her usual lonely holiday ritual.

Her plans are interrupted when a savage gang of raiders arrives at her home. Led by the ruthless Thalia (Ajani Russell), the group quickly turns Pumpkin’s Halloween into a fight for survival.

Armed with little more than candy, weapons, and her own wits, Pumpkin must take on the raiders and survive the night.

The cast also includes AJ Bowen (The House of the Devil, You’re Next) and Shannyn Sossamon (The Order, Catacombs).

Writer and director Ben Sottak previously described Hallowarrior as a “love letter to horror and Halloween,” adding that the film is intended to be both fun and gory while introducing audiences to its badass lead.

Shapiro is best known to horror fans for her unforgettable performance as Charlie in Hereditary, while Bowen and Sossamon have also built extensive genre credits over the years.

With its combination of post-apocalyptic survival horror, Halloween imagery, and a very dangerous candy supply, Hallowarrior could make for a particularly strange October watch.
