Jessica Biel Teams With Paramount TV for ‘Coffin Moon’ Vampire Series Adaptation

Biel and her production company Iron Ocean are teaming with Paramount Television Studios to develop a series adaptation of Coffin Moon, the 2025 horror novel by Keith Rosson that earned high praise from Stephen King.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and Painkiller writers Noah Harpster and Micah Fitzerman-Blue are attached to adapt the novel for television and will serve as showrunners.

Set in the 1970s, Coffin Moon follows Vietnam veteran Duane Minor, who returns home to Portland, Oregon, hoping to rebuild his life, save his marriage, and connect with his 13-year-old niece, Julia.

Everything changes when a vampire walks into the bar where Minor works.

The vampire, John Varley, brutally murders Minor’s wife, Heidi, setting the veteran and his niece on a bloody path of revenge. As Minor and Julia pursue Varley across the Pacific Northwest and beyond, they encounter an increasingly strange world populated by undead children, vampire hunters, and people drawn to Varley’s terrifying influence.

Rosson, who also wrote Fever House and The Devil by Name, released Coffin Moon last year.

The novel caught the attention of Stephen King, who described it as “mind-blowingly good!”

The television adaptation comes from Biel and Michelle Purple’s Iron Ocean, which has a first-look deal with Paramount.

The announcement also arrives as Coffin Moon receives its paperback release.

There is currently no word on when the Coffin Moon series will premiere or who will star in the adaptation.
