‘V/H/S: SCP’ Sets 2027 Theatrical Release as A24 Joins the Horror Anthology

The V/H/S franchise is heading into new territory. Following this October’s V/H/S/MIXTAPE, the next installment, V/H/S: SCP, is officially set for a 2027 theatrical release—marking the first time the long-running horror anthology will hit theaters.

Adding to the excitement, A24 has boarded the project, according to Deadline.

V/H/S: SCP will bring the terrifying world of the SCP Foundation into the found-footage anthology format. The movie will be presented as “recovered field documentation”—video evidence collected, redacted, and archived by the mysterious organization.

Each segment will explore a different object, entity, or unexplained event, all connected by the SCP Foundation’s containment-breach mythology.

The SCP Foundation began in 2008 as a collaborative online project and has since evolved into one of the internet’s biggest horror and sci-fi universes. Its stories center on bizarre and dangerous anomalies that the secretive organization attempts to contain.

A24 will co-produce the film alongside Roy Lee and Steven Schneider for Spooky Pictures, as well as Josh Goldbloom. Image Nation Studios’ Ross, along with Lee and Schneider, acquired the franchise earlier this year.

The producers see V/H/S: SCP as another opportunity to bring internet-born horror to mainstream audiences, following the growing success of properties such as Backrooms.

The V/H/S franchise launched in 2012 and has continued with V/H/S/2 (2013), V/H/S: Viral (2014), V/H/S/94 (2021), V/H/S/99 (2022), V/H/S/85 (2023), V/H/S/Beyond (2024), and V/H/S/Halloween (2025).

Before SCP arrives, the musical-themed V/H/S/MIXTAPE will premiere on Shudder this October.

V/H/S: SCP is currently slated to arrive in theaters in 2027.
