Set in a world ravaged by environmental collapse, survivors fight over the planet’s dwindling resources. When a wounded man arrives, a young woman’s loyalties are tested as he discovers her family guards a secret supply of freshwater.

Academy Award nominee Hubert Davis (Hardwood) directs from a script by Kathleen Hepburn and Michael Capellupo.

The cast includes Shailyn Pierre-Dixon (Suicide Squad), Idrissa Sanogo (Robyn Hood), Joanne Boland (Land of the Dead), Natasha Mumba (The Handmaid’s Tale), Noah Lamanna (The Last of Us), Steven McCarthy (Chapelwaite), Arnold Pinnock (Altered Carbon), and Sheila McCarthy (The Umbrella Academy).

A Canadian production, The Well made its debut at the 2025 Fantasia International Film Festival, delivering a chilling glimpse of a world where survival comes at a deadly cost.

Born in December, the darkest and coldest month of the year, Francesco Monti developed a passion for all things horror from an early age. A lifelong horror aficionado, his love for films, books, and the darker side of storytelling eventually led him into filmmaking, with a focus on horror, thriller, and sci-fi. In May 2022, Francesco turned that lifelong passion into GoreCulture — a platform created not only to bring horror fans closer to the films, stories, and culture they love, but to give a voice and valuable exposure to talented filmmakers, creators, and artists whose work deserves to be discovered, regardless of how established they are.
