Lionsgate’s thriller “Fall” took audiences to the edge of their seats with its release in August 2022, offering a gripping tale of survival amidst vertigo-inducing heights. Its unexpected success has paved the way for not one, but two sequels, with the Spierig Brothers now slated to direct “Fall 2.”

Michael and Peter Spierig, known for their work on Lionsgate’s “Jigsaw,” “Winchester,” and “Daybreakers,” are set to helm the sequel. Scott Mann, director and co-writer of the original film, returns to co-write “Fall 2” alongside Jonathan Frank.

In “Fall,” best friends Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner) face a harrowing ordeal when they become stranded atop a remote, abandoned radio tower after a daring climb. Battling the elements, dwindling supplies, and their own fears, they must summon all their courage to survive.

The film also featured Jeffrey Dean Morgan and was directed and produced by Scott Mann, with a screenplay by Mann and Jonathan Frank.

“Fall 2” and its subsequent sequel will bring back beloved characters from the first film while also introducing new faces. Mann is set to write and direct the third installment.

“We’re thrilled to take the helm of the second installment of this franchise and deliver another heart-pounding, adrenaline-fueled experience,” said the Spierig Brothers in a statement.

Mann expressed his excitement about passing the baton to the Spierigs, praising their esteemed reputation in the genre. He looks forward to collaborating with them and the rest of the filmmaking team to elevate the “Fall” franchise to new heights.

The production of “Fall 2” will reunite producers Mark Lane and James Harris of Tea Shop Productions, Capstone’s Christian Mercuri, David Haring, and Scott Mann under the Flawless banner. Executive producers Dan Asma, John Long, and Roman Viaris, alongside Capstone’s Ruzanna Kegeyan, will also return.

Shooting for “Fall 2” is slated to commence in June 2024, promising another thrilling chapter in the saga. Stay tuned for more updates.
