Charlize Theron paddles through the wild Australian backcountry in a new still from Apex via USA Today… but it’s not just the rapids that are deadly. A merciless serial killer is hunting her.

Described as Free Solo meets The Silence of the Lambs, the survival thriller drops on Netflix April 24.

Theron stars as an adrenaline junkie determined to conquer a treacherous river in Australia—but her thrill-seeking turns into a nightmare when she becomes the prey in a deadly game with a ruthless predator.

Taron Egerton (Carry-On) takes on the role of the killer, with Eric Bana (Deliver Us from Evil) rounding out the cast.

Baltasar Kormákur (Everest, 2 Guns) directs from a script by Jeremy Robbins (The Purge).

Theron also produces alongside Dawn Olmstead, Beth Kono, and AJ Dix through their newly launched media company, Secret Menu.

Prepare for a heart-pounding hunt where nature isn’t the only thing out for blood.

Francesco Monti

Born in December, the darkest and coldest month of the year, Francesco Monti developed a passion for all things horror from an early age. A lifelong horror aficionado, his love for films, books, and the darker side of storytelling eventually led him into filmmaking, with a focus on horror, thriller, and sci-fi. In May 2022, Francesco turned that lifelong passion into GoreCulture — a platform created not only to bring horror fans closer to the films, stories, and culture they love, but to give a voice and valuable exposure to talented filmmakers, creators, and artists whose work deserves to be discovered, regardless of how established they are.
