The latest offering from directors Raúl Cerezo and Fernando González Gómez is their chilling new venture, “The Elderly.” Dark Star Pictures has just unveiled the spine-tingling official trailer for the film.

After a successful journey through the festival circuit, which included stops at Sitges, Fantastic, and Fantasia (with the latter bestowing upon Eguileor the coveted “Best Actor” award), “The Elderly” is poised to hit theaters on October 13.

For those unable to catch it on the big screen, fear not, as the film is set to make its way to Blu-ray and VOD on October 31, 2023.

The storyline unfurls after the sudden and tragic suicide of Manuel’s wife, pushing him into a realm of increasingly disturbing behavior. In no time, a series of inexplicable paranormal occurrences sweep through the local elderly population, causing them to act strangely. It becomes evident that they hold a dark secret, hidden from the younger generation, and an insatiable craving for blood accompanies this revelation.

Zorion Eguileor, known for his role in “The Platform,” takes the lead alongside Gustavo Salmerón, Paula Gallego, Irene Anula, Juan Acedo, and Ángela Gamonal.

“The Elderly” was scripted by Raúl Cerezo, Javier Trigales, and Rubén Sánchez Trigos.

Notably, the film has garnered acclaim and currently boasts a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, supported by seven festival reviews.
