Director Alexandre Aja’s latest cinematic venture, originally known as “Mother Land” when announced last year, has undergone a title change and is now officially dubbed “Never Let Go.” Lionsgate unveiled the gripping official trailer for the film this morning, offering audiences a glimpse into its chilling narrative.

Set to hit theaters on September 27, 2024, “Never Let Go” appears to tread similar thematic ground as acclaimed thrillers like “A Quiet Place” and “Bird Box.” The storyline revolves around a resilient family unit grappling to survive amidst a world plunged into chaos. The trailer teases an abundance of snake-like imagery, hinting at an ominous threat lurking just beyond their doorstep, yet the nature of this peril remains shrouded in mystery.

At the forefront of the cast is Academy Award winner Halle Berry, who leads the charge in this harrowing tale. Joining her are Percy Daggs IV (“The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey”) and Anthony B. Jenkins (“Florida Man”), portraying her fraternal twin sons. The official poster art further amplifies the film’s eerie atmosphere.

“Never Let Go” delves into the haunting ordeal of a mother and her sons, besieged by a malevolent entity for years, who cling fiercely to their familial bond as their sole defense. However, when doubt creeps in, threatening to rupture their connection, they find themselves plunged into a nightmarish struggle for survival.

Helmed by Alexandre Aja, the film boasts a screenplay penned by Kevin Coughlin & Ryan Grassby. Produced by 21 Laps’ Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Dan Levine, known for their work on “Stranger Things,” “Never Let Go” promises to deliver spine-tingling thrills and psychological tension.

Lionsgate, in association with Media Capital Technologies, presents this gripping tale of resilience and terror, a chilling reminder that in the face of evil, some bonds must never be broken.
