Capcom celebrates the triumph of Resident Evil Village’s VR mode at the awards last night by dropping some big news: the free VR Mode DLC for their Resident Evil 4 remake is now live. Exclusively accessible on PlayStation VR2, gamers can also download the VR Mode Gameplay Demo straight from the PlayStation Store.

This immersive VR experience thrusts players into the eerie world of Resident Evil 4, casting them as Leon S. Kennedy. Engaging intimately with the menacing Ganados and other haunting adversaries becomes a reality. The meticulously crafted environments appear even more lifelike with the PlayStation VR2’s 4K HDR display, while the 3D audio enhances the overall immersion.

With the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, players delve into interactive elements encompassing puzzles, exploration, and combat. Each weapon and item is meticulously detailed, offering distinct haptic feedback that gives every firearm its unique feel, down to the trigger. Weapons feature specific actions mimicking realistic gestures, such as shotgun reloading through pumping actions and executing parries and melee attacks by swinging Leon’s knife.

For those yet to experience the thrill of Resident Evil 4, the gameplay demo provides a glimpse into the adrenaline-fueled opening sequences. Additionally, the demo showcases the VR controls and lifelike weapon mechanics through the new Shooting Range mode.

Resident Evil 4 is currently accessible on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. Exciting news for Apple enthusiasts, as the title is set to launch on iPhone 15 Pro models, all iPads, and Macs with the M1 chip or later starting December 20.
