One Million Copies of ‘Lords of the Fallen’ Sold Within a Week on PC and Consoles
CI Games and their in-house studio, HEXWORKS, are reaping the rewards of their recent launch of “Lords of the Fallen.” Just within a mere ten days since its release, the game has already achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing one million units sold on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series.
Marek Tyminski, CEO of CI Games, expressed his enthusiasm for this achievement, stating, “Lords of the Fallen is the most significant and ambitious game we’ve developed in our 20-year history, and it marks the first step in our new AAA game lineup for the coming years. Witnessing this fresh and innovative take on the action-RPG genre reach one million sales in just 10 days has been a humbling experience for everyone at HEXWORKS and CI Games.”
A reboot of the 2014 original, “Lords of the Fallen” unfolds in the dark-fantasy realm of Mournstead. The game’s standout feature is its unique dual-realm mechanic, allowing players to seamlessly transition between the brutal and unforgiving living world and the nightmarish world of the dead. Players engage in fierce battles against formidable monsters and demons, embarking on a holy crusade to vanquish a god who was once defeated.
It’s worth noting that the game’s launch hasn’t been without its share of challenges. HEXWORKS acknowledges these issues and has been diligently collaborating with partners and the game’s community to release a series of patches aimed at enhancing performance and introducing new gameplay mechanics. These updates include a revamped New Game Plus mode and the introduction of crossplay capabilities between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Moreover, crossplay with PC platforms is set to be reinstated as part of an upcoming comprehensive patch scheduled for release this Thursday.
