“Last Hans Standing” Free Update for ‘Killing Floor 2’ Now Accessible
As the eagerly anticipated third installment of the series approaches, Tripwire remains dedicated to keeping the Killing Floor 2 community engaged with fresh content. In this spirit, they have unveiled a brand new, free Halloween seasonal content update for Killing Floor 2, aptly named “Last Hans Standing.” This event is now available, and it offers a treasure trove of exciting features, including a new official map, bonus rewards, weaponry additions, and continuous refinement of weapons and perks based on valuable community input.
In this latest episode, mercenaries set out on an intriguing adventure into Dr. Hans Volter’s WWII-era stronghold, meticulously concealed within the Bavarian Alps. Locally referred to as Castle Volter, this architectural marvel enchants the eyes with its grand vaulted ceilings, flying buttresses, opulent corridors, and, naturally, scientific apparatus untethered from any moral or ethical constraints. This equipment serves as the clandestine source of the sinister doctor’s seemingly undying existence, with the original Dr. Volter held in stasis for the relentless creation of countless clones. Of course, Castle Volter is infested with Zeds, demanding immediate cleanup.
The “Last Hans Standing” event ushers in the Castle Volter map, compatible with Survival, Endless, and Weekly modes. The event introduces five in-game objectives associated with Castle Volter, each bestowing 150,000 Vault Dosh upon completion. Completing all five objectives throughout the event will entitle mercenaries to a unique Volter-themed weapon skin for the MKB Assault Rifle.
This time, the Weekly Game Mode takes the form of “Bounty Hunt.” Here, a fixed number of “Bounty Zeds” materializes at the start of each wave. These specialized Zeds are hardier than their standard counterparts and will actively evade confrontations with mercenaries. Swiftly tracking down and dispatching these “Bounty Zeds” is crucial, as they grow increasingly perilous the longer they roam the map. Successfully accomplishing a Bounty Hunt during the active weekly mode will grant players an exclusive Bounty Hunt weapon skin for the Desert Eagle handgun.
The update also brings exciting new weaponry, including the HRG 93R Pistol, while owners of the Ultimate Edition or Armory Season Pass 2 gain access to the MG3 Shredder Machine Gun, along with five weapon skins.
On the cosmetic front, “Last Hans Standing” introduces three Weapon Skin Bundles and one Outfit Bundle. Additionally, players with the current Cosmetic Season Pass receive these items for free:
1. Chameleon MKIV Weapon Skin Bundle
2. Medieval MKII Weapon Skin Bundle
3. Spectre HRG MK II Weapon Skin Bundle
4. Last Stand Uniform
To celebrate this update, Tripwire Interactive will participate in various Halloween-themed sales and special promotions across various platform stores, so be on the lookout for these enticing offers.
Killing Floor 2 is available for PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Meanwhile, the eagerly awaited Killing Floor 3 is currently in development for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series.
