Cosmic Horror Unleashed in ‘Rotten Flesh’: Descent into Sewers in Pursuit of Your Lost Dog
Fresh off the recent release of ‘The Voidness’ earlier this year, Steelkrill Studio, the developer, is back in action with an all-new cosmic horror title named ‘Rotten Flesh.’ Available on Steam, this spine-chilling game plunges players into the depths of a nightmarish sewer as they search for their lost dog, Roy. However, lurking in the darkness of the tunnels is something far more sinister, something that can hear your calls, but it’s certainly not a friendly presence.
The unique gameplay mechanic in ‘Rotten Flesh’ revolves around the use of your microphone to call out for Roy. If Roy hears your voice, he will respond with barks. It’s a clever and immersive feature, but the game also offers the option to use pre-recorded voice lines should you prefer not to use the microphone.
Roy is not the only entity haunting the sewer’s eerie depths. Your actions and sounds can betray your presence. Even seemingly innocuous actions like walking on broken glass, moving crates, or knocking over objects can draw unwanted attention. To survive, players must make use of the game’s hiding mechanics. When all else fails, you do have access to weapons, but be warned, they are in scarce supply.
‘Rotten Flesh’ doesn’t stop at fear-inducing gameplay mechanics. It incorporates other Survival Horror elements like limited inventory space for crucial items, including medkits and upgrades, and presents challenging puzzle-solving mechanics to keep players on their toes.
As for its release, ‘Rotten Flesh’ is currently scheduled to enter Steam Early Access, offering players a chance to dive headfirst into its haunting world and contribute to its development.
