As Bloober Team reaches the milestone of its 15th anniversary this year, the acclaimed game developer is bringing forth a macabre gift for its fans. In a fusion of eerie artistry, they have teamed up with Polish singer-songwriter Natalia Szroeder to put a haunting spin on a cherished children’s classic.

The enigmatic build-up to this revelation began with a teaser on Xbox last week, leaving enthusiasts curious about the company’s next move. Now, the suspense has lifted, as GameSpot unveils Bloober Team’s collaboration with Szroeder on a rendition of “You Are My Sunshine,” a homage to the iconic Layers of Fear series. The musical performance and accompanying video, directed by Bloober Team’s CEO Piotr Babieno, offer a novel interpretation of the timeless tune, but one steeped in a suitably dark and ominous ambiance.

Babieno shared his thoughts on this creative venture, saying, “Together with Natalia, we wanted to create something special. Natalia is one of the most talented young singers in the music scene, and it was very important for us to hear her voice in this new interpretation of the song because we believed it would add a mysterious character to it, and it certainly did.”

Beyond the haunting song and video, Bloober Team has also confirmed that Layers of Fear, released earlier this summer, will receive new content on October 24th. This date holds particular significance as it marks the anniversary of Bloober Team’s establishment in 2008.

For gaming enthusiasts, Layers of Fear is currently accessible on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. As Bloober Team commemorates its 15-year journey, the marriage of dark artistry and immersive storytelling continues to captivate its audience.
