Andrew Lincoln, known for his portrayal of Rick Grimes, and Danai Gurira, who brought Michonne to life, reunite in “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live,” a fresh spinoff series slated to hit AMC soon.
Mark your calendars for the series premiere on February 25, 2024, airing on AMC and AMC+. Catch a sneak peek preview below before the big day.
In this exclusive first look, Gurira expresses, “It’s a really exciting story to tell,” while Lincoln hints, “Our ambition is to have some answers.” Gurira emphasizes the intense bond between the iconic characters from the original “Walking Dead” series, describing it as “some crazy love.”
The series delves into an epic tale of love amid a world transformed, where two individuals are shaped by a changed reality, separated by distance, an unyielding force, and the shadows of their past selves.
Rick and Michonne find themselves thrust into a new realm, forged in a battle against the deceased and, ultimately, a conflict against the living. Can they reunite and rediscover their former selves in an unfamiliar place and circumstance? Are they foes? Soulmates? And without each other, do they truly exist—or will they realize they, too, are the Walking Dead?
Scott M. Gimple, Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe, takes the helm as showrunner and executive producer, joining forces with Lincoln, Gurira, Denise Huth, and Brian Bockrath.
Regarding other “Walking Dead” spinoffs, both “Dead City” and “Daryl Dixon” are gearing up for their second seasons. Additionally, the latter show’s second season is titled “The Book of Carol.”
