According to a report by Variety, acclaimed actor Kevin Bacon is set to make a thrilling return to the horror genre in the upcoming series “The Bondsman,” produced by Blumhouse TV. The show has received a straight-to-series order from Amazon’s Prime Video.

“The Bondsman” is an action-packed horror series that revolves around the character of Hub Halloran, played by Bacon. Halloran, a bounty hunter from the remote countryside, is given a second chance at life, love, and even his forgotten musical aspirations after returning from the dead. However, he soon discovers that his former occupation has taken on a sinister, demonic twist.

Created by Grainger David (known for “The Chair”), the series will also feature his executive production. Erik Oleson, who previously served as showrunner for Prime Video’s “Carnival Row” and Netflix’s “Daredevil” Season 3, will take on the role of showrunner and executive producer through CrimeThink.

Blumhouse TV, led by Jason Blum, along with Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, and Chris Dickie, will also executive produce the series. Paul Shapiro from CrimeThink will contribute as an executive producer as well. In addition to his leading role, Bacon will also serve as an executive producer.

Bacon has a rich history in the horror genre, having previously appeared in notable films such as “Friday the 13th,” “Tremors,” “Flatliners,” “Stir of Echoes,” and “Hollow Man.” He most recently starred in Blumhouse’s “They/Them” and previously worked with Prime Video on the series “I Love Dick.”

“The Bondsman” marks another collaboration between Blumhouse and Amazon, with Blumhouse also involved in the upcoming horror dramedy series “The Horror of Dolores Roach,” set to premiere on July 7 via Prime Video.

Amazon has ordered eight half-hour episodes of “The Bondsman,” although production will not commence until all labor negotiations with the guild have been resolved.
