This fall, Prime Video is set to take audiences on a wild ride with “Gen V,” a fresh spinoff series set in the captivating world of the hit show “The Boys.”
According to Amazon’s official description, “Gen V” promises to be a unique blend of college drama and thrilling competition, akin to “The Hunger Games,” while retaining the heart, satire, and audaciousness that fans love about “The Boys.”
The series is scheduled to debut its first three episodes on Friday, September 29, with subsequent episodes releasing weekly on Fridays. The gripping season finale will be available to stream on November 3.
“Gen V” offers an inside look into Godolkin University, the exclusive college for young-adult superheroes, operated by the powerful Vought International. Set in the world of “The Boys,” the spinoff delves into the training and experiences of the first generation of superheroes who learn that their powers come from Compound V injections, rather than being natural gifts. In the race to achieve the prestigious top ranking at the school, these young heroes test their physical and moral boundaries. However, they soon realize that ambition comes at a cost, and the lines between right and wrong aren’t as clear-cut as they once believed.
As the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must grapple with the kind of heroes they want to become.
The stellar cast includes Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. Additionally, “Gen V” features guest appearances from Clancy Brown and Jason Ritter, along with Jessie T. Usher, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne reprising their roles from “The Boys.”
The showrunners and executive producers Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters lead an impressive team of executive producers, including Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Nelson Cragg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, and Michaela Starr.
Co-executive producers Brant Englestein, Sarah Carbiener, Lisa Kussner, Gabriel Garcia, Aisha Porter-Christie, Judalina Neira, and Loreli Alanís also contribute their talents to the series.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film, “Gen V” promises to be an exhilarating addition to the “The Boys” universe, offering fans an unforgettable and action-packed adventure.
