The highly anticipated second season of Squid Game will debut on Netflix on December 26, 2024. Fans should also note that the series will conclude with a final season set to premiere in 2025.

The new season features a diverse ensemble cast, including both rising stars and seasoned actors. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who won an Emmy for the first season, returns to direct, write, and produce the entire season.

In the South Korean series, contestants with financial woes accept a mysterious invitation to participate in children’s games, where a substantial prize comes with deadly risks. The survival game offers a prize of 45.6 billion won.

In Season 2, three years after winning the original Squid Game, Player 456 is still on a quest to uncover the masterminds behind the game and end their cruel sport. Using his prize money to aid his search, Gi-hun starts by tracking down the man in the sharp suit playing ddakji in the subway. However, his investigation leads him into even greater danger as he must re-enter the deadly game to dismantle the organization.

Returning cast members from Season 1 include Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. New additions to the cast for Season 2 include Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.
