Scott Speedman, Known for ‘The Strangers,’ Joins Peacock Series “Teacup” Produced by James Wan
Peacock’s forthcoming series “Teacup,” based on Robert McCammon’s “Stinger,” is set to be produced by James Wan. Deadline reports that Scott Speedman, known for his role in “The Strangers,” will join Yvonne Strahovski (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) as the leads of the series.
In the show, Speedman will portray James Chenoweth, opposite Strahovski’s character, Maggie Chenoweth. “Teacup,” produced by Atomic Monster, UCP, and Ian McCulloch (“Yellowstone”), follows a diverse group of individuals on a ranch who must unite in the face of an enigmatic threat.
Set in Inferno, Texas, “Stinger” unfolds over the course of twenty-four hours in a town grappling with racial tensions, gang conflicts, and economic downturns. As circumstances worsen rapidly, chaos ensues.
Executive produced by James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett from Atomic Monster, along with director E.L. Katz, writer Ian McCulloch, and author Robert McCammon, “Teacup” promises to be an adrenaline-fueled thriller with compelling emotional depth.
Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, expressed excitement about the series, anticipating it to be both captivating and poignant. Beatrice Springborn, President of UCP, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the collaboration’s potential to deliver an exceptional viewing experience for Peacock audiences.
