Netflix Releases Teaser Revealing Full Cast as Production of “Wednesday” Season 2 Begins
Netflix has kicked off production for the eagerly awaited “Wednesday” Season 2, unveiling the full ensemble cast through an entertaining teaser video.
Jenna Ortega reprises her role as Wednesday Addams in the upcoming season, while the return of Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams adds to the anticipation.
Joining the ensemble are Joy Sunday as Bianca, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, Emma Myers as Enid, Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, Billie Piper as Capri, and Thandiwe Newton as Dr. Fairburn. Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor round out the diverse cast.
Excitingly, Season 2 welcomes guest stars including Jamie McShane, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, Joonas Suotamo, Fred Armisen, and Christopher Lloyd. Notably, Lloyd, famed for portraying Uncle Fester in the 1990s live-action Addams Family films, joins the “Wednesday” series, with Armisen portraying Fester.
In a revealing announcement, Netflix disclosed that Season 2’s inaugural episode is titled “Here We Woe Again,” marking Tim Burton’s return to the director’s chair.
“Wednesday” unfolds as a mystifying, supernaturally imbued narrative, chronicling Wednesday Addams’ tenure at Nevermore Academy. Amidst mastering her burgeoning psychic prowess, Wednesday grapples with halting a malevolent rampage plaguing the local community and unraveling the enigmatic puzzle that entangled her parents a quarter-century earlier—all while navigating intricate relationships.
Scripted by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (“Smallville”), with Tim Burton serving as executive producer and directing select episodes of the inaugural season, “Wednesday” captivates audiences with its unique blend of mystery and the supernatural.
While details on Season 2 remain scant, Jenna Ortega assures fans that the forthcoming installment promises to be “bolder” and darker than its predecessor.
“We’ve resolved to delve deeper into horror,” Ortega shared last year, hinting at the series’ chilling evolution.
