Netflix’s colossal hit, “Squid Game,” not only captured viewers but also spawned its own reality competition, “Squid Game: The Challenge.” Now, following its recent debut, Netflix has confirmed a second season is on the horizon.

In a morning announcement, Netflix revealed the renewal, branding the show as “the most ambitious unscripted show” to premiere on their platform.

The second season of the original “Squid Game” series is also on the verge of release.

This 10-episode competition showcases 456 real players entering the game, all vying for a life-altering prize of $4.56 million. Notably, “Squid Game: The Challenge” boasts the largest cast and prize money in the realm of reality competition shows.

The series description outlines the stakes: “456 real players will compete in a series of games inspired by the original show, incorporating surprising new elements. Their strategies, alliances, and character will be tested as eliminations unfold.”

Behind the scenes, “Squid Game: The Challenge” is a creation from Studio Lambert & The Garden, with an executive production team featuring Nicola Brown (The Garden), Tim Harcourt (Studio Lambert), John Hay (The Garden), Toni Ireland (Studio Lambert), Anna Kidd, Stephen Lambert (Studio Lambert), Louise Peet, Nia Yemoh (Studio Lambert), and Stephen Yemoh (Studio Lambert).

Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s VP of Unscripted and Documentary Series, expressed gratitude for Director Hwang’s original vision, now brought to life in this expansive competition and social experiment. Riegg promised a captivating journey for fans of the drama series, as 456 real-world contestants navigate the series’ most significant challenges, packed with tension, twists, and the highest-ever cash prize awaiting the winner.
