Season 3 of “Yellowjackets” is set to premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime next year, and this week it was announced that Joel McHale (known for his role in “Becky”) will join the cast in a guest-starring role.

Production for the new season is already in full swing. Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, with Jonathan Lisco serving as showrunner, “Yellowjackets” continues to captivate audiences with its intense narrative.

The series follows a group of talented high school girls’ soccer players who survive a plane crash in the remote northern wilderness. It explores their transformation from a close-knit team to warring factions, while also delving into their lives almost 25 years later, revealing that the past is never truly left behind and the struggles that began in the wild are far from over.

The show’s ensemble cast features Melanie Lynskey (“The Last of Us”), Tawny Cypress (“Inez & Doug & Kira”), Juliette Lewis (“Natural Born Killers”), Christina Ricci (“Wednesday”), Elijah Wood (“The Lord of the Rings”), Lauren Ambrose (“Servant”), and Simone Kessell (“Obi-Wan”).
