Get ready for an eerie Halloween treat as the highly anticipated second season of HBO’s Original Series, “30 Coins,” is set to premiere this October. The chilling new trailer and poster, released today, beckon viewers to embark on a journey into the depths of Hell.
Produced by HBO Europe in Spain, this acclaimed horror series, consisting of eight gripping episodes, will air on HBO and will be available for streaming on HBO Max.
Directed and co-written by renowned horror master Álex de la Iglesia, whose credits include “The Day of the Beast,” “Witching & Bitching,” and “The Last Circus,” “30 Coins” transports audiences to a world where nothing is as it seems, and trust is a scarce commodity. De la Iglesia collaborates on the series’ writing with Jorge Guerricaechevarria.
The new trailer teases spine-chilling encounters with fresh demons, eerie bug-like creatures, and intriguing characters, including Paul Giamatti’s enigmatic portrayal of Christian Barbrow.
In the first season’s eight gripping episodes, viewers follow Father Vergara (Eduard Fernández), an exorcist, boxer, and ex-convict who becomes the priest of a remote town in Spain, exiled by the church. As his dark past and old adversaries resurface, strange and unsettling occurrences begin to unfold. The search for truth leads to an unlikely alliance between Mayor Paco (Miguel Ángel Silvestre) and local vet Elena (Megan Montaner), as they confront a cursed coin at the heart of a global conspiracy, causing reality to twist and bend in unimaginable ways.
As Season Two looms, the town of Pedraza finds itself besieged by demonic events, driving most residents to madness and confinement in a psychiatric hospital. Elena lies in a comatose state in a Madrid hospital, while Paco, consumed by remorse, attempts to care for her. Amidst the escalating horror, our group of heroes faces a new mysterious enemy (Giamatti) whose malevolence even the devil fears.
The series boasts a talented ensemble cast, featuring Macarena Gómez, Pepón Nieto, Cósimo Fusco, Manolo Solo, Nuria González, Javier Bódalo, Manuel Tallafé, and Najwa Nimri.
Season One left audiences with lingering questions: What fate awaits Father Vergara? How will the shattered town of Pedraza recover from the tumultuous journey? The new trailer hints at a more chaotic and twisted narrative than ever before. Fans can’t wait to witness the imaginative demonic creations crafted by de la Iglesia and Guerricaechevarria.
For those yet to experience the thrilling world of “30 Coins,” the first season, along with its review, is available for streaming on HBO Max, ensuring a chilling binge-worthy experience.
