In 2024, “True Detective: Night Country” has captivated audiences, steadily building its viewership week by week, becoming a resounding success for HBO and the Max streaming service.
As per The Wrap’s report, “True Detective: Night Country” has garnered an average of 12.7 million viewers across various platforms, including HBO and Max, based on Nielsen ratings and internal viewing data from Warner Bros. Discovery. This surpasses the inaugural season’s 11.9 million viewers, making it the most-watched season of “True Detective” to date. On Max, “True Detective: Night Country” continues to hold the top spot as the most-viewed title on the streaming platform.
Penned, directed, and produced by Issa López (known for “Tigers Are Not Afraid”), “Night Country” features screen icon Jodie Foster alongside Kali Reis.
Set in Ennis, Alaska, where the long winter nights cast shadows over the Tsalal Arctic Research Station, the disappearance of its eight occupants sparks a chilling investigation. Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) must confront their own inner demons and uncover the haunted truths concealed beneath the icy landscape.
