“Happy Face”: Dennis Quaid Cast as Real-Life Serial Killer in Paramount+ Series
Dennis Quaid, best known for his intense performance in Deon Taylor’s The Intruder, is set to delve into darkness once again in the forthcoming Paramount+ series “Happy Face.”
According to Variety, Quaid will portray the notorious real-life serial killer dubbed “Happy Face” in the upcoming show, alongside Annaleigh Ashford (“American Crime Story”).
The series draws inspiration from the podcast of the same name by iHeartMedia and Melissa Moore, as well as Moore’s book “Shattered Silence,” co-authored with M. Bridget Cook, and her personal experiences.
Here’s a glimpse into the plot: “Happy Face” (Quaid) is a convicted serial killer, once beloved by his daughter Melissa (Ashford). After years of estrangement, he manages to reinsert himself into her life, prompting Melissa to race against time to uncover the truth about a crime her father committed, potentially saving an innocent man from death row. Along the way, she confronts the devastating impact of her father’s actions on the victims’ families and grapples with her own identity.
The debut season, comprising eight episodes, is slated for release in 2025. Jennifer Cacicio serves as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner for this gripping Paramount+ series.
