Warner Bros. Discovery Seals a Multiyear Streaming Pact With A24
A24, renowned for its blend of horror and arthouse dramas, has inked a Pay 1 output streaming agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery. This collaboration signifies that all forthcoming A24 releases will head to HBO, Max, and Cinemax post their theatrical debuts. According to The Verge, A24’s extensive existing catalog, boasting over 100 titles, will also be accessible on HBO, Max, and Cinemax. The company had previously held a similar arrangement with Showtime.
Royce Battleman, WBD’s executive vice president of content acquisitions, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Continuing our relationship with A24 to bring award-winning movies alongside recent fan-favorites to subscribers adds incredible value to the HBO and Max value proposition. The diverse range of stories that come from the A24 pipeline make this partnership so impactful for our audience.”
While select A24 films were previously available on Max and HBO, they will now all be accessible through these platforms. A24 and HBO have previously collaborated on TV shows like The Idol and Euphoria.
Variety noted a lineup of movies slated to debut on Warner Bros. Discovery platforms, including Sofia Coppola’s biopic “Priscilla” starring Jacob Elordi and Cailee Spaeny, Sean Durkin’s “The Iron Claw” with Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White, Kristoffer Borgli’s comedy “Dream Scenario” featuring Nicolas Cage, and several others such as “Dicks: The Musical,” “The Zone of Interest,” and the re-release of Jonathan Demme’s iconic concert film “Stop Making Sense.”
