Deadline reports that the popular video game Five Nights at Freddy’s will be adapted into a feature film by Blumhouse, and Kat Conner Sterling has been cast. The film is being filmed in New Orleans.

Josh Hutcherson, Matthew Lillard, and Mary Stuart Masterson have also been added to the cast of Emma Tammi’s picture, which was previously revealed (The Wind, Blood Moon). The animatronics for the game will be brought to life by Blumhouse and Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

A depressed security guard starts working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria in the film Five Nights at Freddy’s. He discovers that it won’t be so simple to make it through his first night on the job. Scott Cawthon, Emma Tammi, and Seth Cuddeback wrote the screenplay for the movie. Blumhouse will produce the film in collaboration with Striker Entertainment. The movie will be produced by Jason Blum and Scott Cawthon. Russell Binder and Beatriz Sequeira are EPs.

At the age of 10, Sterling started acting in community theater. Among her many film and television roles include those in Marvel’s The Gifted, Fox’s 9-1-1, and Fox’s The Resident. After submitting a personal recording for a nationwide open call, she went on to earn the role of Presley in Netflix’s A Week Away. Her audition was so well received by producers and casting that she was hired immediately and without a callback. She will soon be seen co-starring with Cheryl Hines and Marc Evan Jackson in Blu Fox Entertainment’s Popular Theory as Casey. In Memphis, Tennessee, Sterling was born and raised.

DDO Kids, East Coast Talent, and Patino Management all represent Sterling.
