“Winnie the Pooh 2: Blood and Honey” Sequel Director Teases Over 30 On-Screen Deaths

Prepare for a return to the twisted world of Winnie the Pooh with the upcoming release of “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2.” Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield is back at the helm, and he’s not holding back. In a recent interview with Variety, he spilled the beans on what we can expect from the sequel.

First and foremost, the budget for this installment is through the roof, with over ten times the funds at their disposal compared to the first movie. This financial boost has allowed the creative team to crank up the gore and violence, making this sequel even more terrifying.

Frake-Waterfield acknowledges the dark appeal of slasher films, where the audience often anticipates the gruesome death scenes. He proudly revealed, “I think the last time I did a count there was over 30 deaths in the movie, which is quite substantial compared to most movies. I think that’s at least over three times what the first film had, and there’s various massacres and stuff. So there’s a lot of blood and a lot of gore.”

This time around, Winnie the Pooh has a signature weapon – a bear trap that’s a perfect fit for his character. This gruesome tool is used to dispatch victims in a variety of ways, promising some intense and creative kill sequences that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats.

The production also boasts impressive set pieces that were challenging to shoot but are sure to deliver some unforgettable kills. According to the director, there’s one particular sequence that’s “absolutely wild,” and he’s eagerly anticipating the audience’s reaction to it.

Notably, “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2” will venture outside of the Hundred Acre Wood, taking its horrors to the quiet community of Ashdown, promising new thrills and surprises for the fans.

The film’s cast includes Tallulah Evans, Scott Chambers as Christopher Robin, Ryan Oliva as Winnie-the-Pooh, and Peter DeSouza-Feighoney as Young Pooh. The screenplay for the sequel was penned by Matt Leslie, known for his work on “Summer of 84.”

Expect “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2” to be bigger, badder, and bloodier than its predecessor, as it brings new creature designs, a fresh cast, and a skyrocketing body count. Brace yourselves for a return to the horrifying yet captivating world of Winnie the Pooh.
