Today we learn that the originally announced 2018 horror movie adaptation of the viral Creepypasta tale, “Russian Sleep Experiment,” has resurfaced, sending shivers down fans’ spines. After years of silence on the project, Screen Daily has brought the exciting news to light.
Screen Daily reports that “Buffalo 8,” a Los Angeles-based production and distribution company, has secured worldwide rights to the film, now titled “Soviet Sleep Experiment.”
The movie, based on the chilling Creepypasta urban legend, unfolds the story of Russian researchers who resort to an experimental stimulant to keep four patients awake. As the experiment takes a dark and unexpected turn, the subjects find themselves taking matters into their own hands.
The original Creepypasta tale revolved around Soviet researchers using an experimental stimulant during the 1940s to keep five people awake for a grueling 15 consecutive days. Read the whole story here!
The cast for “Soviet Sleep Experiment” features Eva De Dominici, Rafal Zawierucha, Chris Kattan, Evgeny Krutov, Michael Villar, Charles Hubbell, and Paul Cram.
Jack Katzenberger, Sara Leeper, Crist Ballas, and Jamey Guy are credited as producers alongside director Barry Andersson.
