In the film
“The bustling Mexican seaside village that oilman Paul Sturges once knew has suddenly disintegrated when Paul Sturges brings his family to Bahia Negra, the crown jewel of Baja and the location of Paul’s best-performing rig. The last residents of the decaying ghost town inform Paul that “El Demonio” has been awakened by the offshore platform. The family follows Paul to the platform out of fear that they will be left alone. However, as soon as they board, a huge black shark viciously attacks them. This shark, often known as The Black Devil, is unlike any other animal. It has asserted ownership over the nearby seas and is ferociously defending mother nature from human threats. The few men who have survived have left Paul and his family isolated, and they have just learned that explosive charges have been placed on the platform’s legs. Paul must figure out a method to bring his family back to land alive despite being under continual attack from the giant monster and the fact that time is running out.”
Together with Julio Cesar Cedillo (Cry Macho) and Fernanda Urrejola (The Eternal Purge), Josh Lucas also appears in the film (Sicario). The script was written by Idaho Esquerra based on a narrative by Carlos Cisco.
